About the store
I started my teaching career at a Chinese public school in NYC. I taught art to 6th, 7th and 8th graders, most were newly immigrated to the U.S. and English learners. After about 4 years there my husband and infant daughter moved to Kentucky where we have been ever since. I started teaching art to PreK-5th in 2006 and am still at it in the same sweet school today.

About the store

Experience

I started my teaching career at a Chinese public school in NYC. I taught art to 6th, 7th and 8th graders, most were newly immigrated to the U.S. and English learners. After about 4 years there my husband and infant daughter moved to Kentucky where we have been ever since. I started teaching art to PreK-5th in 2006 and am still at it in the same sweet school today.

Teaching style

Having studied studio art, primarily sculpture, learning to teach well has been a journey of trial and error. I walk the fine line of ordered chaos in my classroom, always creating and revising art based experiences for my students. My expectations are high for them and myself.

Additional biographical information

I am fortunate to live in central Kentucky amid the rolling hills, horses and stone walls. I am fortunate to have a family that is healthy, happy and loads of fun. I am fortunate to have a community of friends that lifts me up and encourages me to keep moving forward. And finally I am fortunate to have a roof over my head and food on the dinner table at night. I wish these good fortunes for all.
