About the store

Experience

Welcome, Speechies, Teachies, Parents, and anyone passionate about helping children communicate with confidence! I'm Alexandra Lorenz, a certified Speech-Language Pathologist and the creator of Articulation Antics. My goal is to provide engaging, practical, and low-prep resources that make speech and language therapy both effective and fun for students. Whether you're working on articulation, language, carryover, or communication skills, I hope these resources help support your students' success. Thank you for visiting my store! Please feel free to leave feedback or reach out with any questions, suggestions, or resource requests. Happy teaching and happy speeching!

Teaching style

I believe the best way to support children at the beginning of their speech and language journey is through creativity, play, and meaningful interaction. By incorporating students' interests and early learning concepts such as colors, animals, and everyday experiences, therapy becomes engaging, motivating, and fun. I strive to meet each child where they are, using enthusiasm, imagination, and a little silliness to capture their attention and build meaningful connections. When children feel like they are playing a game rather than completing a task, they are often more willing to participate, take risks, and learn new skills. My goal is to create activities that make learning enjoyable while supporting communication growth every step of the way!

Awards & shining teacher moments

Throughout my career, colleagues, teachers, and families have often recognized the creativity and enthusiasm I bring to speech and language therapy. In fact, their encouragement inspired me to begin my Articulation Antics journey and share these engaging activities with other educators and clinicians. One of the greatest compliments I receive is hearing that students leave therapy excited to talk about what they learned and the fun they had while practicing their speech and language skills. While I have been honored with academic awards and recognition throughout my educational journey, my proudest accomplishments happen in the therapy room. The true shining moments are watching students overcome challenges, achieve breakthroughs, and develop confidence in their communication abilities. Seeing a child go from feeling frustrated by a difficult sound to proudly using it with confidence is what inspires me every day.

My own education history

I hold both a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and continue to expand my knowledge through trainings, conferences, and plenty of CEUs along the way! I am passionate about lifelong learning and love discovering new strategies, research, and ideas that can help children communicate with confidence. There is always something new to learn in our field, and I am excited to continue growing so I can better support the students and families I work with every day.

Additional biographical information

I was born and raised in New York and currently live in Connecticut. Outside of speech therapy, I enjoy spending time outdoors, going on walks, exploring new places, and discovering local hidden gems. You can usually find me with my nose in a book—especially fantasy, thriller, or romance novels—or caring for the ever-growing collection of plants that make up my own little indoor jungle! 🌿🤩 I believe that bringing joy, curiosity, and creativity into everyday life helps me bring those same qualities into the therapy room and the resources I create.
