Teaching style

As an Arts Integration Coach, I believe student’s engagement is the first step to learning. I believe that great teaching is a conversation between the teacher and students within a guided framework that challenges and excites. In leading activities for multiple ages, I start with an essential question that focuses my own thoughts and allows open ended discussion and exploration. I strive to allow students’ voices to be heard and honored, and to create an equitable and artistically rich environment. In creating a safe space for self-expression, I work to encourage risk-taking in big ways, and seek to answer the question, what can we take from the rehearsal and creative process and apply to the learning process?
