About the store
Marcy has taught general music for more than 25 years. She has worked with the Colorado Dept. of Education in developing assessments in music for the state assessment bank, curriculum design, unit template development and co-chaired the committee that revised the Colorado State Music Standards. She spent 4 years as an arts integration instructional coach at an integrated arts elementary school. She has presented on arts, arts integration and arts and technology at the Center for Arts Integration Education Institute, Colorado Music Educators Conference and at many other events. She was a presenter for Colorado Dept. of Ed. on Inquiry Based Learning in the arts. Marcy has also conducted professional development classes for districts in the area of technology integration, arts integration, and standards based instruction.

Teaching style
My style is very "discovery" based and inquiry based. I also believe in technology integration to facilitate learning whenever possible. I love using Interactive Whiteboard technology, iPads, student response systems whenever available and appropriate. I believe that teachers should plan with specific intentions but lead the students to their own learning. Be the Guide on the side, not the Sage on the stage.
