My responsibility as an educator is not only to present the knowledge needed but to provide the encouragement and support for each student to achieve personal success. Since students learn in so many different ways, it is my job as an educator to be equipped to use different teaching styles based on the needs of the child. Students are encouraged to explore mediums as well as different approaches to learning, which helps to develop personal growth in creation, imagination and problem solving skills.
My goal is not for everyone of my students to become famous artists (although that would be amazing!) rather my goal is to have each one of my students looking at the world in a slightly different manner, to appreciate the art and history that surrounds us, to question, explore and develop their own thoughts and ideas and be able to support their conclusions. My goal is to help develop a well rounded student so he or she can walk out into the world and be an active and educated part of society.
