Students are to match the equation to the correct missing addend. They record their answers after talking to their partner.

Math Match Up: Sweet Subtraction was created for first grade and focuses on the common core standards 1.OA.C.6 and 1.OA.D.8. Includes subtraction with numbers 0-20. Also includes practice in subtracting with doubles less than 20. File contains cards to be cut and laminated (optional), directions, and record sheet.

Students match the addition fact cards to the sum cards. All cards are located within document. Document also contains recording sheet for students to write down matching cards. Lesson focuses on doubles, doubles plus 1, and doubles plus 2 mental math strategies in finding sums to 10. This lesson was developed for first grade, but can be adapted to other grade levels. Students are instructed to describe the sequence of events, or "how-to", in building a snowman. A prewriting page is included to aid students in deciphering the order of events (I have found this especially useful since students in Florida do not have much prior experience with snow). Math Bin Labels is completely editable and are made to be printed on Avery labels. They can also be printed on regular paper and taped onto bins. I use these to easily organize math manipulative and other supplies. Students can find what they need without my help.

Tackling First Grade Sight Words Bulletin Board is fully editable and was created to track student sight words up to 100. Document should be laminated and cut out. This lesson was created for a first grade class focusing on inventors, their inventions, and also integrating the arts. Students learn about inventors and what it means to invent. Students are then instructed to work in collaborative groups with recycled materials as well as other craft materials to "invent" something. Results may vary.
