Physics-a-thon: A fun competition for a Physics final project

Do you want a fun way to get your students engaged in physics all around them? This Physics-a-thon is a great way to end the school year on a fun note, while encouraging teamwork and deep critical thinking! Students will work in groups to design a game where the players will be better if they know more physics. Then, groups will play each other's games in a fun competition and end the year with a written exam summarizing WHY they played the games the way they did. This project is best used in a

Experience

Welcome! My name is Ash and I'm so glad you've found my store because I love to help other teachers access organized, creative, and affordable resources for their students! I have experience in preschool, middle school math and science, and high school Marine Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and PE/Health. Teaching style

I love to gamify my activities because there is nothing students love more than some friendly competition with prizes (did someone say extra credit?!). I want to make science hands-on and engaging so every one of my students knows that they CAN do science, no matter what career they are interested in for their future.

My own education history

I have a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Notre Dame as well as an M.A. in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University.

Additional biographical information

I am currently a high school Chemistry teacher in Los Angeles, CA.
