Teaching style

Hi, I’m Marielle β€” the educator and creative brain behind Ask Miss Kiki. Over the years, I’ve worked with students from little learners to teens, supported classrooms with SEL strategies, and trained new teachers on how to lead with both structure and heart. I believe great teaching blends storytelling, strong routines, direct instruction, and social-emotional learning into something truly powerful β€” a classroom that feels safe, connected, and full of possibilities. My goal? To help you feel confident, creative, and supported every step of the way.

My own education history

I studied Clinical Child and Adolescent Studies and have continued building on that foundation through extensive training in education, counseling, and curriculum development. Over the years, I’ve taught in lower school, middle school, and high school classrooms, and now teach at the university level, where I teach and support future educators as they develop the skills and mindset to teach with clarity, confidence, and care. I’ve also worked in international education, including time at an international school in Qatar β€” an experience that, along with my own background, deeply shapes my work. Originally from the Netherlands and now based in CuraΓ§ao, I bring a multicultural lens to everything I create. At the heart of it all is a commitment to equality, representation, and the power of inclusive education. I believe that every student β€” and every teacher β€” deserves to feel seen, valued, and supported.
