Fix Up Strategies make all the difference for struggling readers. These strategies give readers a place to begin when their comprehension breaks down and the text doesn’t make sense. The following 10 Fix Up Strategy clipboards were created with several small groups of struggling readers. As a group, we worked together to discuss the why and how of each strategy and wrote it in our (the group of students) language thus creating the clipboards. The Happy, Happy Birthday book is a great way to start the school year and meet new friends.
