Fix Up Strategies for Reading
Fix Up Strategies make all the difference for struggling readers. These strategies give readers a place to begin when their comprehension breaks down and the text doesn’t make sense.
The following 10 Fix Up Strategy clipboards were created with several small groups of struggling readers. As a group, we worked together to discuss the why and how of each strategy and wrote it in our (the group of students) language thus creating the clipboards.

Teaching style
Students learn best with spaced repetition where they are doing the work. Classroom resources are designed to give students ample practice in the areas they need it most. In addition, format, layout, and font determine how easy the content is to read and understand. Atomic Learning creates content with a simple structure that is easy to follow and read. Our simple page structure reduces the cognitive load on the brain making it easier for students to complete the work.
