Reading is Thinking
“Reading is Thinking" is a chart designed to help first graders learn reading behaviors readers do before, during, and after reading. The chart contains a Before Reading, During Reading, and After Reading section with three different reading behaviors for students to practice. Since this chart was designed for first graders the steps have been simplified and include pictures. (The file is in Word so you can manipulate it for any grade.)

Teaching style
Students learn best with spaced repetition where they are doing the work. Classroom resources are designed to give students ample practice in the areas they need it most. In addition, format, layout, and font determine how easy the content is to read and understand. Atomic Learning creates content with a simple structure that is easy to follow and read. Our simple page structure reduces the cognitive load on the brain making it easier for students to complete the work.
