These "Grammar Tiles" are designed to develop foundational grammar skills by having students identify, sort, label, and model sentence structures using color-coded cards. Each card correlates to a part of speech and specific grammar function within the sentence. By using the cards, the teacher will also be able to monitor student progress and offer assistance. The students can use the cards directly on their desk as a warm up activity, a review, or an assessment.
This rubric is designed to grade argumentative speeches and essays with objective criteria. The grade values provide feedback as well as objective explanations that can be provided to students as part of their grade. There is an optional peer grading sheet that the students can complete for each other, as part of the writing process and peer collaboration.
