I have taught IB and AP History for the past 12 years, instructing students on various topics in History. For IB, I have taught and developed study guides and lessons on Paper 1 topics ("The Move To Global War"), and Paper 2 topics, including Authoritarian States, Conflicts in the 20th Century: Causes, Course and Effects, and Cold War: Superpower Tensions and Rivalries. For Paper 3, I have taught the following topics: the Civil War and Reconstruction, the Emergence of the Americas in Global Affairs, the Americas and the Great Depression, The Americas and the Second World War, the Cold War in the Americas, the Age of Exploration and its Impact, the Reformation, the Renaissance, the Enlightenment and Absolutism, the French Revolution and Napoleon I, Italian and German Unification, the First World War, Imperial Russia, the Russian Revolution, and the emergence of the Soviet Union, the Interwar Domestic Developments in Europe, and Diplomacy in Europe. I have also attended various online conferences regarding the changes to the IB curriculum and the newly devised IB History paper examinations. For AP History, I have taught AP European History and AP US History before and during the latest refinements in both subject areas within College Board's Advanced Placement courses. For both IB and AP history courses, I have devised lessons that were/are engaging and thought-provoking that go beyond the material found in the textbooks.

Teaching style

While class time may be devoted to lectures, I like to and have implemented student-based learning where the students act as their own teachers to the entire class where they create their own PowerPoints and their own projects that they provide in a discussion-based lesson. My class also involves Jeopardy games and debates to reinforce what was taught and learned during the semester. To enhance student learning and motivation to interact, I have also devised thought-provoking and highly analytical lessons. These lessons are aligned with the IB standards and the AP College Board standards.
