Template sets out Lesson Goals, Activities and Homework in easy to access format. I have used this with my students during Covid (Year 7-12). I fill in the template in the Teacher Only space of OneNote and then distribute the worksheet to each student for them to fill in. TPT doesn't allow OneNote pages to be uploaded, so a Word export is attached. Feel free to email me for the OneNote file.
This package includes 4 weeks worth of English lessons (12 lessons), which analyse the plot, characters and film techniques used within the film The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. These were developed for teaching-at-home (Covid-19) and are ready to be copied and pasted into a OneNote, but can also be taught in the classroom. This was used with Year 7 students.
Helps students to understand David Bowie's Space Oddity. This is a 20 minute (or so) activity which was used with Year 7s in a unit related to The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (film)
This lesson was used with a Year 7 group to practice annotating poetry. The poems are funny, and enjoyable for middle schoolers. The activity would take high level students approximately 30-40 minutes, up to 70 minutes for lower groups who need further structure. This lesson works under the assumption that students do have a basic understanding of figurative language (similes, metaphors, alliteration etc.)
Use this to get students reading and commenting constructively on the work of others! Adapt the 'criteria' to match your assessment piece, or use the existing rubric for a basic evaluative essay.
