This guide includes translations, scansions, and Latin literary devices. The translation is as literal as possible, the scansion is separated into 6 feet, hexameter, and marked for dactyls, spondees, and elisions. The Latin passages are included with labels for poetic devices.

Grendel Who Stole Danes is a parody of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas; it offers in a fun manner an explanation for why Grendel attacks Heorot. Some of the pages do not have art or background, it can be a group activity where the students fill it in themselves.
