Averages on the track!

Created by
Awake Minds
This activity is meant to be used for a class outside on the track. I used this with my math intensive classroom of eight students. Students are timed three times when walking or running a short distance on the track. They were each asked to keep track of their time and log it on this handout. They then were asked to find the average for the entire class. Great kinesthetic lesson!

This handout may be used in the classroom or as homework. Students will have to solve word problems using averaging. There are four total problems that students would be asked to solve.
