With over 20 years of experience as a bilingual teacher, I’ve developed a range of resources that I use in my own classroom year after year. My hope is that your students will find them just as engaging and beneficial as mine do.
Teaching style
My teaching style has always centered on theme and project-based learning, grounded in a holistic approach. I believe this method fosters deeper engagement, allowing students to grasp concepts more fully and apply them meaningfully.
Awards & shining teacher moments
I was featured in a half-page spread in *The Brasilians*, a Brazilian newspaper based in New York, for a memorable field trip tied to the Amazonia Brasil exhibit at South Street Seaport, Manhattan. This exhibit offered a virtual walk through the Brazilian Rainforest, perfectly aligning with a thematic unit my students were studying about Brazil. I was able to secure free entry for my students, as well as complimentary transportation on the LIRR and NYC subway, thanks to our low socio-economic district. This incredible experience not only deepened my students' understanding but also earned us recognition in *The Brasilians*, where I received an honorable mention.
