I spent my first two years being self contained in fourth grade. I then taught reading and writing in fourth grade for one year. The last few years I have taught 5th grade science and also coach teachers on my campus.
This choice board is a great way for students to write critically about what they learned during your lessons. You can use this multiple ways. Allow them to select their own, limit them to one row or one column, or cute them apart and have them draw.
On the first day of school, I want to get to know my students, this activity is designed to get EVERY student up out of their seats and collaborating with one another. The ONLY PREP is to make a copy of the handout for each student and get a class list cut apart to use as calling cards. If you have a small class, allow students to sign their own paper once or maybe let them sign each others twice. Just make sure to get a second list made so that you have the correct number of names for your call
