This year I will be celebrating my 28th year as an educator. I have taught all subjects kindergarten through 5th grade. I worked as a math interventionist for four years before returning to my favorite role as a classroom teacher. Creating patterns is an essential part of any patterning unit. Students can use these task cards in a station to independently practice fading the core of a geometric pattern or the rule in a numerical pattern. After identifying the core or rule, students will create their own pattern using unique shapes or pictures.
