Teacher-created reading strategy in which students break-down the causes for change in a story while providing the student the opportunity to recognize important story elements while engaging further with a text.

G+I+S=T2 is a summary strategy that requires the student to further scrutinize the text by identifying the author's purpose and determining important information. It is meant for older students (grades 5-12).
