Have students move through stations with accountability. They watch progress, and you get to keep track. Add up the numbers in small group while students are working independently. They know daily how their working. Instant rewards and feedback. They OWN IT.
Here are some charts to put up in each center for Read180. They are filled in, but I erase them and have the kids and I decide on rules for each station. You can do the same or use my template. I post these in the room at the stations. When students are off-task, they can see it is not one of the approved activities. A lifesaver!
Have your students record when they have completed all the tasks for reading their books. There is space for a reward sticker when they are completely done. By just looking at their folder, you can get a glance at how they are doing. Alter it to fit your needs.
If you use CHAMPS in your class and want your kids to fill in as you go through a lesson, try these. I have the computer station done, so we can go over it together. I make transparencies of the other stations and we go through them one by one.
