This is an entire semester's worth of material for a Marine Biology course, ideally at the high school level. The course is designed to be in-person but students are able to complete work, view power points, watch videos all online. Most projects and worksheets can be completed online as well (even though I do mention in my teacher notes about having things printed). A quick 16 task card review of the major steps, concepts, and terms of photosynthesis and cellular respiration. This is a great formative assessment to see where students are at with understanding the concepts. The task cards are done in google slides so they can be printed with multiple slides to a page, if desired. A student sheet and answer key are provided at the end of the slides.

This is a bundle of the three activities for the Murder Mystery. They Karyotype and Pedigree packets are lessons on their own and also teach the skills needed for the Murder Mystery packet. You can teach each item on your own but the similar formatting between the three makes them a prefect set.

Who doesn't love the describing characteristics to determine a specific person like Guess Who?! Now with science related items. This particular Guess Who version is on elements in the periodic table. Just like in guess who students will have to use descriptions to determine the card their opponent has. This is only the files to print the game cards and inserts. When I designed these boards, I was working in a building where I had a very large white wall space. So, instead of sticking to a typical bulletin board, I filled the wall space. Engage students in an interactive method of the process of natural selection. There are many different candies (or bird seed) you can use but I find that most students prefer M & Ms. The object is to be a predator hunting candies in the grass, ideally the green and brown M & Ms survive the most. Student's are always sad to see the M & Ms be thrown so remember to save some as a treat for afterwords.

Inspired by a trip I took to the Pacific Northwest, these are classroom wall signs for engaging students in a growth mindset. Each poster contains a growth mindset statement to be used by the individual reading them, a quote by a naturalist or someone related to Earth and nature, and an image. NGSS Standard HS-LS1-6 discusses the use of glucose and how it is broken down into its components to create the other biological macromolecules. This modeling activity has students creating glucose molecules and then figuring out how to create the other biological macromolecules from them.

In this lab students will be using dissolved sodium carbonate and dissolved magnesium sulfate to perform a precipitation reaction. During the lab students will be identifying the solubility rules and predicting if the reaction with produce a precipitate. You, the teacher, will need prepare the solutions a head of time. Students will learn about how the law of conservation of mass is in play in a chemical reaction that occurs in a plastic bag. A simple lab, but an effective one to show the law at work. There is also an "additional component" that I offered as extra credit. This component has the student repeat the lab but in an open system, therefore some gas is lost to the environment, and the weight changes.
