Basic Beginnings

These shape and color matching mats are a great activity for students learning about the different shapes. For this activity, students will place the same cutout shape onto the mat to create a match. Different colored shapes are provided to either enhance the learning of shapes, colors, or both colors and shapes at the same time. The possibilities are endless! These number and color matching mats are a great activity for students learning to count the numbers 1-10. For this activity, students will place the number of circles that correspond with the number on the mat. Colored circles can be used to reinforce matching colors, or the plain white circles may be used if numerical matching is the primary focus.
