Enjoy my Veterans Day Program bundle! -Armed Forces Medley edit -Armed Forces Medley Instrumental edit -Armed Forces Medley lyrics I was looking for a good Armed Forces Medley for my 1st graders to perform at our Veterans' Day Program, but I found the actual medley is too long and wordy, the keys were not appropriate for young voices, and there was not enough time between pieces to announce the branch of the Armed Force whose song was coming up. So, I played around with audacity and made my own

Music with Manipulatives came from repurposing fraction circles in order to display notes and rests on them and use them to help teach duration. Students can not only see the values and how they fit into one another, but can use the manipulatives to carry out mathematical equations that transfer to music. I took plastic manipulatives from my school and pasted printed out notation on them, but you can also use cardstock or paper to have students create their own. I normally explain without the w
This game was adapted from the Music Centers handbook game, "Swat that Rhythm." This is a GREAT game to have all students practice counting, saying, and performing simple rhythms. Set B contains eighth note couplets, quarter notes, quarter rests, half notes, and half rests. I cut up all rhythms included in set "A" and put
If you're familiar with the game Cranium, then you'll love my specially made Classical Period Cranium! I use this game paired with an actual Cranium board game to teach facts and information about the Classical Period of music to my students. In cranium, there are 4 categories that you work through- Data Head, Star Performer, Word Worm, and Creative Cat. I have replaced the cards of Cranium with cards that pose the same challenges, except on the subject of the Classical Period. Nothing else ne

A short, sweet script perfect for an elementary holiday program written in the style of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas"! Meant to be narrated by a teacher or multiple teachers, there are 4 "scenes" that each end with a dance. This narration serves as a transition for a class to come out on stage and get set in their dance spots. Each scene also has a blank to insert teachers' names, depending on whose class it is that is dancing. After the 4 "scenes", there is a narration that describes al

To be used in accompaniment to Sergei Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf" music and story. It is a quick worksheet for the younger students especially. However you do Peter and the Wolf- listening to audio, watching the video, or reading it to the class, this worksheet helps reinforce which instrument represents which character by requiring students to draw a line between the character and his/her instrument.

I use this easy worksheet after I have had students sort measures of various meters with a group. They get a baggie filled with individual measures of 2, 3, and 4, and they have to put the measure onto the paper plate labeled with the correct meter. I find this gives my higher kids something to do while others are still working.
