This is the first in the series of activities for figurative language. Students match 5 figurative language words with their definitions and examples.
An answer key is included and makes it easy for students to check their own work and make necessary corrections before copying the chart or moving on to the next set of figurative language cards.
Teachers can use these cards in a lesson, a folder activity, a center, or for independent work.

This card can be used as a bookmark, placeholder or reference card. I use it in the beginning of the year to remind students of the grammar symbols. Having them color in the correct color helps refresh their memory and saves on color ink for the teacher!
