About the store

Experience

For more than three decades, I’ve worked as a Special Education teacher supporting students with diverse learning profiles, sensory needs, and emotional/behavioral challenges. I specialize in calm classroom structures, gentle communication systems, and practical tools that help both school staff and families feel grounded. Everything in this store comes from real classroom use — nothing fluffy, nothing overwhelming, just what works.

Teaching style

My teaching style is relationship-first and regulation-centered. I believe students learn best when they feel safe, connected, and understood, so my tools focus on clear expectations, simple visuals, and supportive communication systems. Whether it’s data collection, behavior supports, or parent communication, I look for ways to make the process calmer and more predictable for everyone.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I received my school’s Teacher of the Year Award in 2013–2014, but my proudest work has been building strong, collaborative systems for Special Education teams. Since 2014, I have been the facilitator of our SpEd team meetings, which have become a district-recognized model for effective communication, data use, and student-centered decision making. Over the years, I’ve also been selected to serve as a mentor teacher for both student teachers and newly hired special educators—supporting them as they grow in confidence and skill. I currently serve on our district’s Special Education Leadership Committee, where I help shape planning, problem solving, and professional practices.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary and Special Education and a Master’s in Education with a focus on the Exceptional Child.

Additional biographical information

Outside the classroom, I’m a mom, a writer, and someone who finds comfort in quiet routines and creative projects. I started this shop to help families and teachers feel less overwhelmed and more supported — something I wish I had earlier in my career. Everything here is created with care, practicality, and a deep love for the students we serve.
