I received my school’s Teacher of the Year Award in 2013–2014, but my proudest work has been building strong, collaborative systems for Special Education teams. Since 2014, I have been the facilitator of our SpEd team meetings, which have become a district-recognized model for effective communication, data use, and student-centered decision making.
Over the years, I’ve also been selected to serve as a mentor teacher for both student teachers and newly hired special educators—supporting them as they grow in confidence and skill.
I currently serve on our district’s Special Education Leadership Committee, where I help shape planning, problem solving, and professional practices.
