About the store
My teaching experience began long before my professional experience. I began teaching at the age of 14. Coming with a background in music, specifically piano and theory, I began teaching young musicians. Throughout the next ten years, I was studying and working part-time, as a music teacher and as an artistic director at the theatre. Together with my team, we directed around 80 musicals. As soon as I graduated from university, I had my first homeroom of Grade 7-8. Next years, I worked with grades 1-12 teaching English, Math, Social Studies, Geography, History, Civics and Careers, Music, Drama, and Dance. In the past four years, I've been supplying at my school board, as well as completing some teaching contracts while enjoying my part-time maternity leave.

Experience

Teaching style

I have a variety of teaching styles that I've combined over years to adapt to my personality. I enjoy student's active participation in my classroom while I am moving from teacher-guided lessons to students-independent activities. I strongly stand by "We Explore, I Show, We Practice, You Do" approach. I spend most of my lessons teaching through technology, and I try to engage my students in exciting and creative activities.

Awards & shining teacher moments

My class won the first place at the Kiwanis Choir Competition.

My own education history

As soon as I graduated from college in the field of Early Childhood Education, I went into university where I completed my Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education. Later on, I also completed a specialist certificate in Special Education, as well as Teaching English Language Learners.
