Great project after your first statistics unit learning about univariate data. This project has students research online and collect temperature data from your city and compares it to temperature data of another city. This project implements the use of technology (spreadsheets or stapplet.com) to produce visuals and graphs. Rubric/grading guidelines included. This project takes: ~2 block schedules ~3-4 45 minute classes
Complete set of 4 student guided notes with teacher key included to teach all of the exponent properties. Topics Include:Lesson 1: Multiplication Properties includes discovery activity of rulesLesson 2: Division Properties includes discovery activity of ruleLesson 3: Zero Property and Negative Exponents Lesson 4: Rational Exponents For a set of bellringers and exit slips to go with these notes go to resource here: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/Exponent-Rules-Unit-set-of-warm-ups-a
Includes a project description and overview, 3 steps (project proposal, data collection, and powerpoint) guidelines, and a rubric. Use this as a final project in your statistics class to give your students a chance to collect and analyze their own data in the methods they choose. Student then will make a powerpoint to present to the class. Great for students who want to survey students at their school, find data online, or create their own experiment. Students always love this project every year

Guess the correlation game!! Your statistics students will LOVE this game as they have just learned what correlation (r) is. Have students get into pairs/groups. Students will be displayed a scatterplot where they have to estimate the correlation based on direction and strength. Keep a running tally of the group who "wins" the most by being the closest to the actual correlation value. There is a total of 9 "questions". This is meant to be used with google the google peardeck add on where studen
File includes student guided notes and teacher key! Files are editable as well. Content: basic probability problemssample spaceIncorporates the fun game "SKUNK"! Get student scorecard from my "freebie" section or have students draw a scorecard. All students love this game! After learning how to calculate probabilities and playing the game, then as a class find the odds of rolling a 1 on either dice.

Practice and Review Exponent Rules with your students! This is meant to be used with the google add-on feature PEARDECK where students work on the slide on their iPad, however could also be used to project and have students work on paper/whiteboard at their desk. With Peardeck see your students in LIVE TIME as they answer these questions. This is my favorite way to practice and review skills with my class. 15 total questions included in this slide setedit to fit your needscould also use as a be
Use this set of 15 exponent rule problems throughout your unit! Use as warm-ups or exit slips to fit your needs, all located in 1 convenient set. Topics Include:adding exponents (multiplying same base) subtracting exponents (dividing same base) multiplying exponents (power to a power) exponent of 0 negative exponents rational exponents
Use this project/task to have fun with your students and have them put on the hat of a statistician to collect their own quantitative data (1-variable), then determine if it is a normal distribution by looking at the histogram, calculating the Pearson Index of Skewness, and checking for outliers. Once they have determined the normality they can compute some interesting statistics about their dataset! Students love this task because they get to pick the topic of their data and go out and collect
This activity is fun and gets your students up and moving and collaborating! Use this as a fun formative assessment to check your students' understanding of parallel and perpendicular equations in slope-intercept form. Print these slides 2 or 4 to a page and cut into cards. Randomly pass out 1 card to each student. (set has 24 cards) Then have students find the person who has their "parallel" equation or "perpendicular" equation. Set is purposely made to have pairs that fit either scenario. Comp

In pairs, students will each roll a dice. One student is the "base" and one student is the "exponent". The number on their dice dicates that value in the exponential expression. Then students will evaluate their expression. Students will have fun in this activity and its a great way to review or practice evaluating exponential expressions!
