About the store
Credentials: I have a Masters of Special Education with an emphasis in applied behavior analysis. I am a licensed Board Certified Behavior analyst in the state of Texas. I currently serve in an administrative role as the assistant director of special education behavior services. In this role I use data to support students and staff alike in gaining skills and shaping behavior in order to be successful not just at school but in life. <strong> Past Experience</strong> I have had the following roles as a general education teacher, special education teacher, behavior interventionist and behavior specialist at the district level. In these roles I have provided individualized instruction both academically and behaviorally. As a behavior interventionist I I serve as a Behavior Interventionist at a Title 1 school. I provide Tier 1,2 and 3 interventions to students in and out of the classroom. As a behavior interventionist, I provide students with social skills instruction as well as data-based individual behavior plans. On a typical day, you may see me teaching groups, collecting and analyzing data, writing intervention and behavior plans, planning classroom interventions, and supporting and coaching teachers. <strong>Teacher and staff Support</strong> In addition to supporting students, I also support teachers daily by providing hands-on coaching, materials, and professional development on effective research-based tools and instructional strategies for behavior intervention.

Why do you need this? Research shows that the number one intervention to help shape and improve student behavior is to provide positive reinforcement. Teaching style

My teaching style is hands on and involved. I also strongly believe in Data driven instruction. That is why any of my students not only have a current and active behavior intervention plan but they also have data to support that plan.

My own education history

I graduated from Sam Houston state University Cum Laude in 2009 majoring in Education with a minor in Special Education. I have had additional training as a credentialed behavior coach.

I am married to a wonderful man who is also an educator at the high school level.
