I have been teaching for 9 years, 7 of which have been in the self-contained Special Education Classroom working with children who have high incidence disabilities, mainly those with emotional and behavioral needs.
Teaching style
Being a special education teacher, my students are always at the center of my planning and instruction. My classroom works hard to build a community with strong relationships through personal ownership, team building, and responsibility. I strive to incorporate culturally relevant learning opportunities as well as integrating choice making and visuals into lessons.
