Teaching style

My classroom is a fun, energetic, family-style classroom. We work and play hard, laugh a lot, and try to make school a safe and exciting place to be. I had a hard time as an elementary student, so I try to be as encouraging and helpful to my students as I can be. I believe that we can learn from our mistakes as well as our successes, and I strive to help children see that learning is something they will do their entire lives.

We have four adult children, one bearded dragon that goes to school with me during the week, two dogs, 3 cats, and a little gaggle of backyard chickens. I love sunflowers and brown eyed susans and could eat tomatoes every day and never get tired of them! I taught myself to knit and crochet and among my creations, I make handmade hats for my students every year for Christmas.
