About the store
I have been teaching ESL/ELL for 6 years and have focused my discipline in Mathematics. I have been a Middle School math teacher for 5 years now ranging across grade levels and in general education classes, self-contained ESL/ELL classes and math support classes. This diverse experience has given me the opportunity to see what works well for both population of students and I would say my activities are a great blend.

Ratio with Skittles

This is a 6 part activity that addresses the the use of a ratio using Skittles. This activity is ESL friendly as I have used it in my class and it works well with WIDA level 1 students. This activity also includes the concepts of graphs, fractions, decimals and percent. The best part about this 5 page activity is that you can incorporate all 5 sections or choose according to your student's needs. I hope you enjoy this interactive activity and there is more to come being this is one of many

Experience

I have been teaching ESL/ELL for 6 years and have focused my discipline in Mathematics. I have been a Middle School math teacher for 5 years now ranging across grade levels and in general education classes, self-contained ESL/ELL classes and math support classes. This diverse experience has given me the opportunity to see what works well for both population of students and I would say my activities are a great blend.

Teaching style

My background is in Project Based Learning which means the students are learning the concepts through the use of projects/experiments etc. I try to find the most basic connection for my students to see the math around them and of course, have fun with the material. All of my activities have Language Focus to promote collaboration and vocabulary in my ESL/ELL students. This is also great for General Education students.
