This project teaches students how to assess and create a budget for a theoretical person's expenditures. The setup document breaks down the materials that will be needed and some details of the 7 different theoretical people. I use this in my Financial Literacy class. We have a guest speaker from a local insurance company visit every week and students interact are able to engage with his lesson on a deeper level by using this document. I use this every year on the first day of school. It is a great way to get kids up and moving and still teach them about their new classroom environment. Every year I edit the questions depending on what I want to emphasize for that class and year. I also edit the secret message depending on what the course is about or what is popular at the time.
