I found that some of my students were reading books by the same author, over and over. I wanted them to give other author's a chance, so I designed this author study project. The project has the student to read 3 different books by the same author. This project is differentiated on student ability. Through this project, my students found a new love for different authors...better yet, they were talking about techniques that their author uses to other students and encouraging them to read book
Students can create a text structure book while you are teaching unit on text structure. You could use 12 sheets of 8.5x11 paper for the inside of your book and use construction paper for the cover. Students cut out the information for each structure and glue it on the right side of the page. On the left, I have the students practice examples of the given text structure.
This is a Common Core aligned fraction review choice board. This choice board covers all the 4 grade common core fraction standards. This is a fun way for the students to review before a unit test. My students have enjoyed this project!
