This is a great way to get your students ready to write a story! First, the map has them "explore the topic," basically brainstorm what their story will be about. Then they move on to mapping out their detailed beginnings, middles, and endings. My students loved using this story map, and they found it easy to follow. It also made for a very smooth transition into beginning their first draft, since their ideas and most of their details were already planned and ready!
