Hey there, thanks for stopping by!
I'm Bethany, an American-Canadian whose first language is English, but who lives in one of the only French environments of North America: Quebec, la belle province!
After graduating in 2012, I taught English to adults in the corporate world; taught English in schools with a diverse clientele in London UK; and have been teaching ESL at the secondary level back home in Quebec for five years. I have seen learners who love learning; I have seen teens who could not care less about Shakespeare; students (and teachers) who thrived and floundered as online learning became prominent during the global pandemic; and pretty much everything in between.
I am convinced that ESL learners will thrive if given the chance to develop their abilities, and I have seen both contexts: 38 student classrooms of ESL, and 3 newcomers in a class of English Language Arts who felt alone in the world. I strive to create resources that are flexible for teaching needs (like students, we don't all need the same things), and that come with FUN activities to practice knowledge individually, in pairs or larger teams.
Pick and choose what you need; teaching ESL is as fun as you make it. There is no better subject out there 😉
