I like to find out a little about muy middle schoolers' attitudes towards reading and writing, and I find this is a non-threatening way to get a little info! Also, they really like to use highlighters.

Teaching style
I believe in making expectations clear. Many of my writing assignments are written in a step by step format to give students the support they need to write a successful paper. For other subjects, I also strive for clarity, as well as a concise way of showing knowledge. While I think it's important to practice, I dislike "busy work" and try to make everything we do in class relevant, and hopefully, a little fun.
