Experience

I have experience teaching a variety of English courses across multiple grade levels and settings. I have taught 7th grade self-contained English and reading, 9th grade general education English as well as inclusion classes, 11th grade English in both self-contained and inclusion settings, and 12th grade general education English. This range has allowed me to develop flexible instructional strategies that meet the diverse needs of my students.

Teaching style

I am a passionate educator dedicated to creating a student-centered learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered. I believe that engaging all students—regardless of their backgrounds or abilities—is key to fostering a classroom culture of inclusion, curiosity, and growth. By tailoring my teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs and encouraging active participation, I strive to inspire confidence and a lifelong love of learning in each student.

My own education history

I began my educational journey by completing cosmetology school at the Paul Mitchell Academy shortly after high school. While working full-time as a cosmetologist, I pursued further studies at Suffolk County Community College, where I consistently earned a spot on the Dean’s List. Building on this success, I transferred to St. Joseph’s University, maintaining Dean’s List honors throughout all six semesters. At St. Joseph’s, I majored in English and minored in Secondary Education. After earning my bachelor’s degree, I continued my education at St. Joseph’s University and completed my master’s degree in Special Education, specializing in English for grades 7-12 and working with K-12 students with severe disabilities.

Additional biographical information

In addition to my academic credentials, I hold a certification in Career and Technical Education (CTE) for cosmetology. I am also certified as a coach and currently coach varsity cheerleading, bringing leadership and team-building skills to my students both inside and outside the classroom.
