About the store
My first job in education was as a paraeducator at a non-public ABA school for students with autism who had significant problem behavior. From there I quickly advanced to teacher. I taught at this non-public ABA school for several years with students ages 10-15. Then, I helped a public school district open their own ABA classrooms, there I taught a self contained K-2 class for children with autism. I taught in an emotionally disturbed k-2 hybrid classroom before going back to middle school. Currently, I teach in a moderate/severe self contained middle school classroom. I am going into my 13th year of teaching!

Teaching style

My teaching style is fun and functional! I believe children (especially sped) learn best when they are engaged and are enjoying their learning. Everything I teach is for a functional purpose. When moderate/severe special education students reach secondary schools it is time to begin preparing them for their future. I believe in helping children gain the skills to be as independent as possible in their lives.
