Experience
Hello! I have been bouncing between teaching at the middle and high school grade levels in a low-income/at risk school district. I am currently working to complete my doctorate in curriculum and instruction. I enjoy the freedom of being creative in developing new educational experiences for my students.
Teaching style
My teaching style is very student centered and personalized to my students needs. I believe that if a student is not growing academically and personally, then we are not truly supporting our students. While I know my students will not always be excited about nor immediately grasp the material, I believe in active continuous learning. Therefore you will find that many of my projects build on a set of skills.
My own education history
I graduated with a Masters Summa Cum Laude from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, Illinois in May of 2012.
Additional biographical information
If you are here, then you are probably like most, "passionate" about teaching. However, teaching can go beyond that, it does not simply have to be a worksheet, or an essay. My hope is to showcase the growth that blooms once you go beyond first year.
