About the store

Experience

I have worked in education for five years, firsthand as a classroom teacher and as a curriculum writer. As a classroom teacher who has seen the impact that engaging, rigorous curriculum can have on student growth and achievement, I have become extremely passionate about the need for high-quality educational materials. I specialize in educational content creation, curriculum mapping, editing, and content improvement.

Teaching style

I want my students to enjoy coming to class and see themselves and their interests in the content!

Awards & shining teacher moments

Writing and editing the biographies of past US diplomats for the Association of Diplomatic Service and Training, a branch of the US State Department. I also wrote Shelby County Schools', Tennessee's largest public school district, English as a Second Language curriculum, which is still in use today. This project included creating yearly, quarterly, and weekly curriculum maps and lesson plans for teachers. The lesson plans were aligned to common core standards and included appropriate scaffolds, supplemental reading, and culminating tasks.

My own education history

I received my Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Allegheny College in 2015 and Master of Science in Education from Christian Brothers University in 2017.

Additional biographical information

I started my teaching career with Teach For America.
