Bilingual Essentials

Writing about themselves encourages students to reflect on their experiences, values, goals, and personal growth. I created a simple All About Me poster that can be used in the beginning of the year to help teachers and students learn about each other. The main purpose is to have a quick activity that promotes classroom community and can be displayed.

Classroom jobs are an important  practice in education where students are assigned various responsibilities within the classroom. I have created a list of essential jobs and a description for each. I use pocket charts to display the job cards and clothespins to write students' names. Every two weeks the students’ jobs change so they have an opportunity to try every job.

Using conversational prompts in school can be a fantastic way to encourage engagement, critical thinking, and active participation among students. I have created a list of bilingual conversational prompts that students can use to describe, explain, justify, compare and contrast. These conversational prompts can be used in all subject areas.

Anchor charts are powerful visual tools used to support and enhance the learning process in classrooms. I've created ten bilingual anchor charts that are essential for launching the school year.
