About the store
I am going into my 21st year of teaching--everyday has not been roses and rainbows, but there have definitely been more ups than downs! I grow everyday alongside my students and continue to learn the longer I teach. My first 12 years were spent in a fantastic high school (the one from which I graduated)--I taught 9th, 11th, and 12th (both general and college prep levels). Ready for a change, I have spent the last eight years at another fantastic school, teaching 6th - 8th grade to some terrific kiddos. I have taught in both a regular education setting in addition to teaching in a TAM classroom for over 15 years.

Teaching style

My teaching style = flexible! I think anyone who works with children (from K-12) has to be in order to be successful! I love to develop lessons that incorporate a multitude of learning styles and activities so that ALL of my students can and will find success. There is time in each of my lessons for lecture, group work, individual discovery, writing, reading, collaboration--all tied together with fun PowerPoints/Google Slides and visuals.

Awards & shining teacher moments

The best honor and award I can ever receive is an e-mail from a past student saying how much they enjoyed my class; how much I sparked their love for reading and writing. And yes, I have gotten a few of e-mails that have said just so!

My own education history

University of DE--BA in English Literature; Washington College--MA in English Literature (Concentration in American Literature)
