- a template to assist struggling writers on their mission to write their own life stories... - aimed at seniors with 1 semester remaining (could be adapted) - used in a senior literacy class - edited in 2020.
- this is an introductory activity that I use to introduce themes to my senior class (well, they do the introducing)
- please note beforehand: students' names will need to be changed.
Students examine the moment Elizabeth's prejudice begins. Students rewrite Mr Darcy's responses to Mr Bingley so that Mr Darcy avoids the wrath of the townspeople.
My students and I have a little bit of fun using these insults to reinforce their understanding of each character. Example: We say what would I be saying if I called [insert name] Mr Hurst? I usually have this as a page on our Class Notebook and we start off a lesson calling them out.
A simple introduction to make students think about why poets write in the first place - and to get them out of their seats (it's okay once a term!!)
