Blissfully Teaching

I bring a wealth of experience from a diverse educational background. I have taught in public schools across a variety of grade levels including kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Additionally, I've had the privilege of teaching at a private school where I engaged with students from all grade levels. Beyond the classroom, I've also ventured into homeschooling my own children, a journey that has deepened my love for the Waldorf style of education. This passion has inspired me to create and share resources that embody the Waldorf philosophy, which emphasizes imagination, creativity, and holistic learning.

My teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in the principles of Waldorf education, which emphasizes holistic development, creativity, and nurturing a deep connection with the natural world. I believe that education should awaken a child's curiosity and foster a lifelong love of learning through hands-on activities, artistic expression, and grounded real-world experiences.

One of my most defining moments as an educator came when I decided to shift the focus from traditional grading to content mastery and student-driven learning. Recognizing the limitations and pressures that conventional grading systems can impose, I chose to emphasize a deeper understanding of material and real-world application over numerical scores.

My academic journey began at Warner University, where I pursued and completed a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Studies. Here, I developed a foundational understanding of educational theories, practices, and the diverse needs of students. This program equipped me with the tools to create engaging and effective learning environments. I furthered my education at Florida Southern College, earning a Master of Arts. This advanced degree expanded my expertise and deepened my understanding of educational leadership and curriculum development, enabling me to implement innovative teaching strategies and contribute to the academic and personal growth of my students. Since 2012, I have been actively involved in teaching across various levels and settings. My career spans from public schools to private institutions and includes significant experience in homeschooling. Each phase of my teaching journey has been driven by a commitment to adapt and respond to the evolving educational landscape, ensuring that my methods meet the highest standards of educational excellence.

Hi there! I’m Katelin — a multi-passionate educator, creator, and homesteader with a heart for meaningful learning and simple living. A few years ago, my family and I made a big leap: we sold our house, bought a piece of land, and moved into a camper so we could live closer to the earth and closer to what matters most. Now, we run a small farm where I spend my days gardening, homeschooling my children, and chasing big dreams under wide-open skies. Between my husband and I, we run five family-owned businesses: a fragrance store, a welding shop, a nursery, our farm, and my own little corner of the internet—where I create educational resources designed to inspire joyful, interest-led learning. On top of that, I also tutor local children with special needs, with a focus on supporting autistic and ADHD learners in ways that honor their strengths and individuality. This life may be unconventional, but it's full of passion, purpose, and creativity. Thank you for being here and supporting what I love to do.
