Guide students through poetry analysis via an interactive activity for students to critically think about the complexities of racism, sexism, colonialism, imperialization, and Afro-hispanic cultural interactions which includes interpretative and presentational modes of communication as students analyze "Mujer Negra" a poem by Cuban poet Nancy Morejón. This literary work is also included on the AP Spanish Literature and Culture reading list published by the College Board.

Students review the preterite vs. imperfect past tenses of Spanish via an interactive reading activity where they must put clues in chronological order based on a dramatic story line.
