Experience

I have been a teacher for 9 years and have worked in Special Education for 12 years. I have taught pre-k through 8th grade. I have worked in the resource, self-contained, and co-taught educational settings. Teaching style

I want the students to have the supports necessary to be successful regardless of their ability level and learning style. It is important to have a systematic approach to introducing new concepts, especially as they become more difficult. It's important to incorporate technology and allow for student voice and choice as they work through a unit. I have modified many math, reading, and science concepts for upper elementary especially. I also have a passion for making data easier to take and creating probes that you can use to track IEP goals.
