I have been a teacher for 9 years and have worked in Special Education for 12 years. I have taught pre-k through 8th grade. I have worked in the resource, self-contained, and co-taught educational settings. I have a special interests in math and reading that is accessible and can be used for the varying needs in the classroom.. Counting On: Adding in Kindergarten and 1st Grade
This pack includes 45 pages of addition practice using the strategy of counting on.
It contains colored and black and white versions of flash cards that have counting points already incorporated on them. They allow students to practice counting on using the points.
There are practice sheets using stars to count on from a particular number.
Also included are timed test sheets. 20 questions in 2 minutes or less!
Tests include adding on my the same and differing number.

Teaching style
I want the students to have the supports necessary to be successful regardless of their ability level and learning style. It is important to have a systematic approach to introducing new concepts, especially as they become more difficult. It's important to incorporate technology and allow for student voice and choice as they work through a unit. I have modified many math, reading, and science concepts for upper elementary especially. I also have a passion for making data easier to take and creating probes that you can use to track IEP goals.
