Bottomless Math

Included are four word problems that require students to write and solve a related inequality. These pages are meant to be printed back to back and cut as half-sheets.

As so many districts are requiring that standards and objectives be posted for students to see everyday, I needed a way that I could easily post the standards in a way that they would have meaning to my students. I put each 7th grade math standard on a page, and created an I Can... statement for each one. This document is formatted so that you can print the pages back-to-back, so the CCSS standard is on one side, and the I Can... is on the other. This makes it really easy for you to post the

Students use tracking sheets and a grocery store menu to purchase items using $20.00. Students subtract each product's dollar amount from the previous balance to practice their vertical subtraction with regrouping.

Using Skittles (any amount), students create a theoretical probability model, make predictions, and find compound probability of randomly choosing two skittles, both with replacing and without. Then students complete 20 trials of choosing one skittle at random to create a probability model for the experiment and make predictions.

This is a skills practice activity I use to preface a unit on drawing and constructing triangles. Students determine the missing number that adds up to 180.
