About the store
After a 34 years teaching career, I decided to team up with my son, an IT whiz and creator of Up Scale Games to launch BottsyFUN ! We bring together "Old School Quality with New School Technology" to create a fun hands-on, engaging and technology based curriculum, while meeting grade level standards for all students. I'm here to share some of the successful strategies I used in the classroom, all revamped for a new generation of learners! My experience includes teaching reading and math strategies to both at-risk students and gifted and talented students. I fostered a collaborative learning environment by working with support staff to help students with special needs to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed. My experience working with ESL students and their families highlights my ability to create a welcoming and supportive classroom that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Experience

After a 34 years teaching career, I decided to team up with my son, an IT whiz and creator of Up Scale Games to launch BottsyFUN ! My experience working with ESL students and their families highlights my ability to create a welcoming and supportive classroom that respects diverse backgrounds and learning styles.

Teaching style

In my classroom, I create engaging, hands-on activities that make learning objectives fun. I recognize that every student learns differently, so I customize my instruction to support individual styles and abilities. I'm passionate about developing independent learners, equipping them with organizational skills that build confidence and self-reliance. My classroom is a safe, predictable, and welcoming space where students feel comfortable taking risks, asking questions, and actively participating in their education.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Nominated for WEM Outstanding Educator: This recognition by my peers exemplifies my dedication to creating an exceptional learning environment for students. Founded and Coordinated Antique Sale/Scholarship Fund for High School Seniors: My initiative not only provided a unique community fundraising opportunity but also directly benefited graduating students as they pursued their educational goals. Designed the School Yearbook for over two decades, I played a significant role in capturing and preserving cherished school memories for countless students. My dedication to this project highlights my commitment to the school community.

My own education history

I graduated from St. Cloud State University with Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education, a Kindergarten Endorsement and a Masters of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I have been a mentor to new teachers and was a supervisor for nine student teachers throughout my career.
